Increasing efficiency and reducing costs with process management at KHS AG

As an internationally active manufacturer of filling and packaging systems in the beverage and liquid food sectors, the KHS Group is one of the market leaders in the industry. 

The core objectives of the project were to increase efficiency, reduce costs in key performance processes, and establish a consistent process orientation throughout the company. 

The project focused on optimizing process design with the following requirements: 

  • Business processes must be consistently aligned with market/customer requirements. 
  • Consistency of cross-location processes must be ensured/improved. 
  • Processes must be secure and reliable; the focus must be on quality and adherence to deadlines. 
  • Clear responsibilities for processes and market services should be defined. 
  • Process costs must be reduced (eliminate inefficiencies, etc.). 
  • Project lead times must be shortened. 
  • The focus is also on increasing flexibility and responsiveness. 

 

As part of the project, BPM&O was responsible for: 

  • Developing the project strategy and the project approach 
  • Project management 
  • Adoption and introduction of a process map/process model 
  • Design and implementation of key core processes: 
  • Product development 
  • Sales and marketing 
  • Service provision 
  • Project management 
  • Training employees on the new processes 

The project tasks also included the creation of requirement analyses and rough and detailed specifications for the implementation of new IT systems or the adaptation of existing ones, which became necessary as part of the process optimization.
